PONT-ROUGE, foresees the creation of a new urban hub located less than two kilometers from the Geneva city centre and will benefit from first class accessibility.

The PONT-ROUGE property development project by CFF is the result of the SOVALP planning exercise. Aiming to enhance the perimeter around the Lancy-Pont-Rouge train station, it is one of the Geneva region’s biggest real estate projects. Located within two kilometres of the Geneva town centre and benefiting from great access facilities, notably the new CEVA (Cornavin – Eaux-Vives – Annemasse) rail link between Geneva and Annemasse, PONT-ROUGE enables the creation of a new urban hub. The heart of this project focussing both on housing and activities carefully planned around the site’s natural environment, remains the station and its surrounding area.

The creation of an urban area on both sides of the new Lancy – Pont Rouge railway station includes the construction of five buildings for different activities. They correspond to a total surface of approximately 120,000 m2 and will include office space, as well as space for complementary activities such as restaurants, cafes, small businesses, leisure activities, public facilities and a hotel complex. The adjoining public areas are reserved for pedestrian and bicycle traffic, linking the different buildings to public or private transportation.

Located along the hillside of Lancy and attached to the existing communal infrastructure, a housing area will gradually complete the commercial development with the construction of 600 new homes, which will be completed gradually according to the progress of the CEVA. The mix of social housing, council flats and condos will create a breath of fresh air for Geneva’s inhabitants, who suffer from an extreme lack of available accommodation in the region.

The harmony of these infrastructures, combined with the disposition of the public areas, allow PONT-ROUGE to combine mobility, economy, urbanisation and environment. PONT-ROUGE is set to become THE next new multi-purpose district of the Geneva region, proposing to its inhabitants high quality services as well as a lively social scene.
